Road Tests

License exams are available at most Registry locations. To schedule a test, go to mass/rmv.gov and select a day and time that fits into your schedule. You willl need a car with a center console emergency brake and a sponsor.

Weekend Road Tests in Amherst

For your convenience, we hire a Registry examiner to administer license exams at our location at 256 North Pleasant St., Amherst. The RMV will assign an examiner, according to their availibility, on Saturday or Sunday morning. These weekend road tests are harder to come by in summer months, and months with holidays, and are only available for students of Pioneer Valley Driving School. You can find our wishlist for 2025 below. None of these dates are guaranteed.

Private students who wish to test with us, need to go to pioneervalleydriving.com, and register as a student of the school. Select the PAY LATER option for a $75 lesson. Call 413-253-7432 the next working day to schedule your lesson and finalize plans for your test in Amherst. Your lesson and test will be in a TOYOTA PRIUS.

In Massachusetts, you are allowed only one scheduled test at a time.
